About RapidResident

The EDAIC exam is hard.
Preparation shouldn't be.

There was no dedicated, high-quality MTF question bank for EDAIC Part I. So a resident built one.

What is EDAIC Part I?

Exam facts

OrganiserESAIC
FormatMultiple True/False — 5 statements per question, each independently true or false
Questions60 per paper — Paper A and Paper B sat separately
Scoring1 point per correct statement, 0 for wrong — no negative marking
Pass mark~60–70% depending on the sitting

Why it's difficult

The MTF format gives you no process of elimination. You need to independently know whether each of 5 statements is true or false.

Paper A covers basic sciences (5 domains). Paper B covers clinical sciences (4 domains). Both require depth, not surface familiarity.

Most candidates fail at least once. The main reason: no structured, EDAIC-specific MTF practice material existed — until now.

Phase 0 is caused by rapid sodium influx through voltage-gated Na+ channels.TRUE ✓
The plateau phase (Phase 2) is maintained primarily by potassium efflux.TRUE ✗

Phase 2 is maintained by calcium influx through L-type Ca2+ channels, balanced by potassium efflux.

Phase 3 repolarisation is caused by inactivation of calcium channels and increased potassium conductance.
TRUEFALSE
The SA node action potential has a stable resting membrane potential of −90 mV.
TRUEFALSE
Pacemaker cells rely on funny current (If) for Phase 4 depolarisation.

“I started building this because I couldn't find a single MTF question bank that matched the actual EDAIC format. Most resources were MCQ-based, and the few MTF collections that existed were outdated or poorly sourced. So I wrote my own questions — based on Aitkenhead, Miller, and the official syllabus — and built the tool I wished I had during my own preparation.”
